Who We Are

Spay Neuter Initiative of the Piedmont, SNIP, is a low-cost, high-quality, high-volume spay-neuter veterinary service provider for cats and dogs.  SNIP’s business focus is on smaller cities, rural areas, and lower-income communities in the Piedmont of North Carolina. We plan to focus our services to the North Carolina communities of Cleveland, Lincoln, Catawba, Rutherford, and Burke counties, but welcome any person or organization in need of affordable veterinary care. SNIP aims to increase access to affordable veterinary care for the local community, rescue organizations and municipal shelters. SNIP provides a surgical approach to help control the pet overpopulation and improve the lives of companion animals through wellness services as well.  SNIP will provide technical, high-quality spay-neuter services with one full-time veterinary surgeon, two veterinary technicians, and a veterinary assistant. As an organization SNIP’s overall goal is to generate an educational approach where improved animal welfare is achieved, public health care is improved, there is a reduction in the overpopulation of animals, and where animal owners in lower socio-economic communities can care for their companion animals.

SNIP is a partnership between Dr. Jessica W. Hilderbran and Dr. J. Reid Rollins.  Both were born, raised and live in the Piedmont area of North Carolina with their families.  It is our vision and goal to significantly impact the lives of animals and animal owners in this region with superior services at an economical price point that meets our communities where they are in life.  A positive community impact is our ultimate goal where anyone experiencing SNIP in their life is left in a better place with their companion animals.   

Dr. Jessica W. Hilderbran has sixteen years of experience in private veterinary practice and shelter medicine and Dr. J. Reid Rollins has thirteen years of experience in business and leadership through Gaston County as a Police Captain with a total of twenty-five years in law enforcement. Dr. Hilderbran attended North Carolina State University for both her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. J. Reid Rollins was formally educated at Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, a Master of Business Administration from Pfeiffer University, and a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Development and Leadership from Gardner Webb University.
